Criteria for Maharatna Company

Maharatna Navratna and Miniratna Companies – If a company fulfills the following conditions, it is given the status of Maharatna company.

  • The company must be Navratna.
  • The company should be registered in the Indian stock exchange.
  • The average annual turnover of the company in the last 3 years should be more than Rs 25000 crore.
  • The total average annual assets of the company in the last 3 years should be more than Rs 15000 crore.
  • The total average annual profit of the company during the last 3 years should be more than Rs 5000 crore.

Powers of Maharatna Company

  • There is more autonomy as compared to Navratna and Miniratna companies.
  • The company has the right to merge and acquire up to 15% of its net worth in India or outside India.
  • The company can invest Rs 1000 crore to Rs 5000 crore.

  • The company must be Miniratna I and the company should have received an Excellence or Very Good rating for 3 years out of the last 5 years.

Must have obtained a score of at least 60 based on the criteria given below.

  4. Total cost of manpower compared to total cost of production
  5. tax on profits and sales before interest payments

Miniratna Company 2023

Maharatna Navratna and Miniratna Companies – Miniratna companies are the third largest public sector enterprises after Maharatna companies and Navratna companies. Miniratna company is divided into two categories named Miniratna 1 and Miniratna 2.

Miniratna Company Category I 2023

If a company fulfills the following conditions, it is given the status of Miniratna Company 1.

  • To become a Miniratna Category 1 company, the company must be consistently profitable for the last three years.
  • Have earned a profit of Rs 30 crore or more in at least one year in the last 3 years.
  • At present the total number of Miniratna Category 1 companies is 62.

Miniratna Company Category II 2023

  • Miniratna Category 2 company of the Government of India includes such a company that has earned a continuous profit for the last three years and its net worth is positive.
  • At present the total number of Miniratna Category II category companies is 12.
