T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 Qualifying

  • For the first time, the 2024 edition will include 20 teams. These teams will initially be divided into four groups of five, which is not how groups are normally constituted. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage.
  • For the Super Eight stage, the remaining teams will be divided into two groups of four. Following that, the top two teams in each group will be guaranteed a position in the semifinals.
  • The goal of this revised format is to increase competition and offer more teams a global platform to showcase their abilities. It also promises to throw unexpected twists on the way to cricket glory.
  • Twelve teams representing both known cricketing powers and developing nations have already confirmed their participation in the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup.
  • The ICC will hold regional qualifiers to select a qualification schedule for the remaining eight competing nations. They will include one team from the Americas, one from East Asia-Pacific, and two from Africa, Asia, and Europe.
